I can’t believe I missed my one year anniversary of my blog! It actually happened one year ago on May 29th that I started this blog (read my first post). I started my blog under the suggestion of my mom who thought it would be a good idea for me to blog about being unemployed (by that time, I had been unemployed for a few months). Once I did I immediately love the voice it gave for a difficult period of time.
A lot can happen in a year and some big changes happened. I found my present job and became “Lady Employed,” my mom lost her job, and my oldest brother moved to a brand new city.
I can’t quite say that my blog is where I want it to be at this point. I don’t think I blog enough, actually. I’d like to commit to at least twice a week, but we will have to see. I can’t get my footing right either on how I want this blog to grow.
Anyways, I am also nearing the bend on another one year anniversary, and that is to my current job. This August will be one year. Can you imagine that I was going to reach that point? For those of you who have been on this journey with me, did you think I’d make it a year? I sure didn’t. And actually, things have gotten better and I’m glad that I’ve lasted this year. I am in a field I enjoy and I can say it’s given me a great foundation to a career.
So, in celebration, I bought a cake for everyone. Have a virtual slice of cake on me!
Happy Anniversary folks and thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading LadyUnemployed!
