You know those moments when you feel like you’ve had a major setback, and that you’ve been brought back to square one? I am dealing with that feeling today, and while I’m trying to convince myself that despite what happened that I’ve learned a lot, I’m still frustrated.
I lost my job last week. I’ll avoid the details, but I can tell you that I feel frustrated. I feel like I lost 6 months of job searching and I’m not even sure how to take that next step forward with my job search now.
As confident as I felt about the direction of my career before, after last week I’m not sure I want to head in that direction anymore. Not that I don’t think I can do it, but now I’m uncertain it was a good fit for me after all.
This week, I’ve been pursuing freelance writing as I look for a job, but to be honest, today I’m frustrated with that too.
So, if you are dealing with setbacks, know you are not alone. I don’t have advice or any profound reflections to share, but I thought I’d put this blog post out there to verbalize how I’m feeling today.
