I am excited to participate in this sponsored campaign to talk about Traffic Secrets: The Underground Playbook for Filling Your Websites and Funnels with Your Dream Customers by Russell Brunson. I remember when I first started my blog, Lady Unemployed, my mission was to discuss my personal job search progress and sharing my insights along the way. I also wanted to give other job seekers a platform to share their stories. Somewhere along the way, I lost sight of that goal and I lost a lot of the readers I gained initially. Then I got feedback that means more to me than it did then.
Someone wrote to me asking me to remove them from my email list. I decided to ask why. They said it was because they wanted more advice on looking for jobs and my blog wasn’t really about that anymore. It didn’t really bother me then since I wanted to take my blog in whatever direction felt right to me. Except I lost readers doing that.
Recently, I joined the traffic secrets challenge. It’s part of the book “Traffic Secrets: The Underground Playbook for Filling Your Websites and Funnels with Your Dream Customers.” On Twitter mainly, I have been completing a 30-day challenge where I learn key strategies to increase my site traffic. It’s teaching me so much on what makes great content and how to produce social media, NOT consume so much. It’s also teaching me about becoming part of the community of sites that I want to emulate. I am so excited to take part in this because this book is encouraging me to do the one thing I never did when I start this blog – think of the readers.
In this book, entrepreneur Russell Brunson shares classic and foundational marketing techniques that will allow you to be on the front of new trends and see opportunities. Russell helps you learn evergreen traffic strategies that are targeted to readers.
This book is helping me think about who I want to reach with LadyUnemployed.com. I want to first reach people looking for a job. I may not be an excerpt, but I do have skills, knowledge and resources that I can share. I also want to invite experts to share their knowledge too. Most of all, I’d like this to be a platform for job seekers to have a voice about their journey. That’s been my favorite part of my blog. So often as job seekers we are isolated and I want this blog to be a community.
If you own a website or a blog, this is the book that will help you avoid the mistakes I made when I first started this blog. You don’t need several years of blogging under your belt to do it right the first time. I have been blogging since 2011 and only now do I feel like I kind of get it. This book is also tremendously helpful to anyone owning a business or selling a product or service. Basically, by reading this book, you’ll learn key strategies to increase your site traffic and gain readers, customers, and clients.
So, join me on my journey by following me on Twitter. I’ve already tweeted a lot about this so far. And make sure you get a copy of this book too. I’d love to know about your experience! You can purchase your own copy here.
